Automation creates speed, but it cannot fix a confused strategy by itself. If data, criteria and ownership are undefined, the system will multiply irrelevant messages, routing errors and reports that are hard to interpret.
Recurring mistakes
- Automating before mapping the process and its exceptions.
- Using incomplete data without quality rules.
- Failing to define consent, frequency and journey exit conditions.
- Measuring sends and clicks without connecting them to opportunities.
- Leaving workflows without an owner, documentation or review cycle.
Start with one defined use case, entry and exit criteria, tests, monitoring and a named owner. Scale only when the flow works consistently.
